The 19th National Bridge Academic Conference was solemnly held at 129 auditorium of Shanghai Tongji University on June 7, 2010, hosted by Bridge and Structure Engineering Branch of China Civil Engineering Society and Shanghai Urban and Rural Construction and Communications Committee, undertaken by Bridge Magazine and Shanghai Pujiang Cable Co. Ltd, assisted by many units, Bridge and Structure Engineering Branch of China Highway and Transportation Society, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences Xiang Haifan, president of China Civil Engineering Society and former Deputy Minister of Ministry of National Construction Tan Qinglian, General Manager of Shanghai Pujiang Cable Co., Ltd. Song Jiayu, chief engineer Luo Guoqiang and Deputy General Manager Xu Minghao et al. were present at the conference and about 600 people as national famous bridge experts, scholars and professors of higher education institutions and leaders of various provincial and municipal highway and bridge engineering involved in design, construction, scientific research, development, supervision and management attended the conference, which was a summit in history.

The Bridge Conference was divided into two stages, the first one was academic communication in which bridge experts made academic speeches on bridge technical development and research. The second stage was site investigation in which conference representatives visited Changjiang tunnel-bridge project and workshop of Shanghai Pujiang Cable Co. Ltd.
